Hi everyone!
Tal como vos disse no post anterior, a nova temporada de Riverdale estreou na Netflix dia 21 e, embora já se tenham passado pouco mais de 24h desde que vi o episódio, tenho que admitir que precisei deste tempo para pensar no que escrever e como escrever. No entanto, não encontrei forma nenhuma de vos vir falar do episódio sem vos dar spoilers, então, para quem não gosta de spoilers, passem já para o fim.
*SPOILER ALERT*
O episódio começa por relembrar os vídeos com que a temporada 4 acabou. Ou seja, os vídeos dos alunos de Riverdale High a fazerem coisas violentas a pessoas inocentes. Como sempre, Betty e Jughead não resistem em ir procurar quem é o "Auteur" dos vídeos e ponderam em fazer um Snuff film para vender e ter acesso a uma festa onde são transmitidos esses filmes. Assim, convencem a Cheryl e o Kevin a filmarem um filme e, depois disso, Kevin e Betty vão tentar vende-lo. Contudo, e por já suspeitarem que iam perceber que é falso, Betty sacrifica o vídeo do seu pai a tornar-se o Blackhood em prol de conseguirem entrar na tal festa. E conseguiram. Mas entretanto, também descobrem que a Jellybean está lá e que não precisou de vender nenhum Snuff film.
Posto isto. E isso já não deve ser segredo, pelo menos para quem viu o trailer, há um baile de finalistas. Nesse evento, a Cherryl e a Toni são coroadas rainhas (claro), contudo, e devido ao passado da família Blossom, a Toni é obrigada a acabar com a Cheryl de forma a não perder os laços com a sua avó. Porém, logo a seguir à coroação, alguém consegue interferir com o sistema de vídeo da escola e é mostrado um novo vídeo dos alunos de Riverdale High a cometerem um homicído.
Nos entretantos do episódio, o Archie prepara-se para um combate contra um antigo amigo da Ronnie de forma a conseguir entrar na academia Naval, ao qual perde. E, já no baile, o Archie confessa à Ronnie que algo aconteceu entre ele e a Betty (e claro, eles acabam). Na minha opinião, foi a raiva do combate que o fez admitir isso.
Mas chega de resumir o episódio, vamos focar-nos no que eu achei disto: primeiro achei desnecessário a Jellybean ter estado na festa. Eles podiam chegar à lista de email sem terem colocado lá a miúda. Depois, achei um golpe de génio a Betty ter sacrificado o vídeo do pai, mas ao mesmo tempo, não gostei de ela o ter feito por causa do sofrimento que ela possa ter sentido ao fazê-lo. Além disso, a Toni ter sacrificado o seu amor pela Cheryl de forma a que ela tivesse uma última noite de glória foi simplesmente uma das melhores partes do episódio! Por último, mais uma vez, o Archie foi uma desilusão para mim. É a personagem que menos gosto e por apenas dois motivos: a sua infantilidade e o facto de ele agir sempre antes de pensar.

Então, posto isto tudo, o que é que eu achei do episódio? Não está mau, de todo, mas há algumas cenas desnecessárias e que podiam ser de outra forma. Mais uma vez, o Archie continua com a mesma atitude (algo que, claramente detestei, pois ele podia, pelo menos, aprender com os erros e pensar duas vezes antes de agir), contudo, tudo o resto do episódio está muito bem feito, a parte do baile e mesmo a parte em que dão continuidade à trama da temporada anterior está muito bem desenvolvida, na minha opinião. Por fim, claro, a honestidade das cenas, que é sempre o ponto que, para mim, conta mais e que nesta temporada não deixou nada a desejar!
Além disso, parece-me que vai ser uma temporada em cheio! E que, claro, vão por os pontos finais em todas as pontas soltas até agora deixadas. Ou pelo menos, é isso que eu espero, porque estamos a falar de Riverdale, onde há sempre um corpo ou um mistério ao virar da esquina!

As I told you in the previous post, the new Riverdale season premiered on Netflix on the 21st, and although it has been just over 24 hours since I saw the episode, I have to admit that I needed this time to think about what to write and how to write . However, I found no way to come and talk to you about the episode without giving you spoilers, so for those who don't like spoilers, move on to the end now.

The episode begins by recalling the videos that season 4 ended. That is, the videos of Riverdale High students doing violent things to innocent people. As always, Betty and Jughead cannot resist looking for the "Auteur" of the videos and are considering making a Snuff film to sell and have access to a party where these films are broadcast. So, they convince Cheryl and Kevin to shoot a movie, and after that, Kevin and Betty will try to sell it. However, and because they already suspected that the guy was going to realize that it was fake, Betty sacrifices her father's video to become Blackhood in order to get into that party. And they did. But in the meantime, they also discover that Jellybean is there and that she didn't need to sell any Snuff films.
Put this, and that should no longer be a secret, at least for those who saw the trailer, there is a prom. In this event, Cherryl and Toni are crowned queens (of course), however, and due to the Blossom family's past, Toni is forced to break up with Cheryl in order to not to lose her ties with her grandmother. However, right after the coronation, someone is able to interfere with the school's video system and a new video of Riverdale High students showing a murderer is shown.
In the meantime, Archie prepares for a fight against an old friend of Ronnie's in order to get into the Naval Academy, which he loses. And, already at the ball, Archie confesses to Ronnie that something happened between him and Betty (and of course, they break up). In my opinion, it was the combat rage that made him admit it.
But enough to summarize the episode, let's focus on what I thought of this: first I thought it was unnecessary for Jellybean to have been at the party. They could get to the email list without putting the girl there. Then I thought it was a stroke of genius for Betty to have sacrificed her father's video, but at the same time, I didn't like that she did it because of the suffering she might have felt in doing so. Furthermore, Toni having sacrificed her love for Cheryl so that she had a last night of glory was simply one of the best parts of the episode! Finally, once again, Archie was a disappointment to me. It is the character I like least and for only two reasons: his childishness and the fact that he always acts before thinking.

So, having said all that, what did I think of the episode? It's not bad at all, but there are some scenes that are unnecessary and could be otherwise. Once again, Archie continues with the same attitude (something that I clearly detested because he could at least learn from mistakes and think twice before acting), however, everything else in the episode is very well done, the part of the dance and even the part where they continue the plot of the previous season is very well developed, in my opinion. Finally, of course, the honesty of the scenes, which is always the point that, for me, counts more and that in this season left nothing to be desired!
Besides, it looks like it's going to be a great season! And that, of course, will put the end points on all loose ends left until now. Or at least, that's what I hope, because we are talking about Riverdale, where there is always a body or a mystery around the corner!
